„Minimum wage“ from January 1, 2020: 9.35 euros

The Minimum Wage Commission (made up of equal numbers of representatives from employers‘ associations and trade unions) has decided to raise the statutory minimum wage from the previous level of 9.19 euros to 9.35 euros per hour. This increase is legally binding through a corresponding legal ordinance.

In the case of marginal employment relationships (so-called mini-jobs), it should be noted from 2020 that, as a result of the increase in the minimum wage, the working hours may have to be reduced accordingly so that the limit of 450 euros is not exceeded.
